Personal Websites

WHAT IS A PERSONAL WEBSITE AND WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS?

A simple answer to this question would be “a personal website is a website about you”, yet it is much more. This kind of website or web design can be used not only to show yourself online or to create a personal space describing you in a perfect way, but it can also be used as a place to present your professional skills.

There are two most common types of personal websites:

1. Personal Website

A website where you can present yourself, your statements, pictures or any other “about you” information that you want. This is a place where you create your presence in the online world without the limitations of social media portals like Facebook or Twitter. This type of website could be used for projects like portfolio websites, blogs or resume websites. The only difference between a Personal and a Professional Website is that the personal one is for presenting personal interest and skills, whereas the professional one is meant for presenting services as a direct offer to customers.

2. Personal Professional Website

This is a very similar website to the Personal Website, however, its goal is more about presenting your professional life rather than your personal one. It is a place where you can present your skills for future customers by creating a website design that highlights your knowledge, professional accomplishments or expertise on selected topics. Its purpose is to make sure that you are not missing any professional opportunity or contact with potential business partners or customers. It is very common to have a personal professional website for celebrities, professional freelancers or entrepreneurs.

How to build project on personal website and design?

Since there are a lot of topics, markets or design ideas available, you should answer some basic questions before you create any website design or development. They are nearly identical to the questions for all website design projects, but they do not require as many details in the answers as the larger business websites do.  Below is the list of 5 questions to answer before starting a successful website project and design.

Q1. What is the purpose of my future website?
Q2. Who and what is my target? (Type of audience, age group, business-based, etc.)
Q3. What do I want to show my future website visitors? What materials would I like to use? (Pictures, text, resume, a gallery of recent or past projects, reviews of previous customers, etc.)
Q4. What is the design and style that I want? Custom website design, classic or modern website?
Q5. How big does the website need to be? Single page website or multiple page design?

How can those questions help you with your future website design and development?

Answer: Clean and modern with black and white as the main website colors.

Q5. How big does the website need to be? Single page website or multiple page design?
